The Eye Clinic

We are a full-scope optometry practice, offering everything from routine annual exams to partial problem based check-ups by qualified primary eye care doctors. For your convenience, we are a fully dispensing practice where you can discuss your eyeglasses and sunglasses needs, or contact lenses options. Please see our services page for a more detailed list of what we can provide.

Dr. Rosanna Chui, Optometrist

Dr-Rosanna-Chui-210x300She attended the University of Waterloo where she graduated from her Honours Bachelor of Science degree and continued onto her Doctor of Optometry degree. Throughout her studies and internships, Dr. Chui travelled around the world to gain invaluable experience at a Veteren’s Affairs Medical Center in the United States, the School of Optometry in Hong Kong, and locally in several clinics within the GTA. She has been on volunteer mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, and Jamaica to provide international eye care to those who are in need. She hopes to continue this work in the future. Not only did Dr. Chui work at a GTA-based laser eye surgery clinic for several years, she is a previous surgery patient herself in April 2011. Not all patients are suitable for surgery, but certainly don’t hesitate to ask for more info!

Dr. Chui was born and raised in Toronto. She and her family now live, work, and play in the lovely communities of Markham and Richmond Hill. On her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying community events.

Dr. Chui is fluent in English and Cantonese, but is in the process of improving her Mandarin.

Dr. Shih-Chun Jeff Lu, Optometrist

Dr. Lu

Dr. Jeff Lu graduated with Dean’s Honours distinction from the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, where he also completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Lu was born in Taiwan and therefore speaks fluent Mandarin as well as English. While he can still read traditional Chinese characters, you may find it amusing when you see him struggling to write anything else other than his name in Chinese.

Outside of optometry, Dr. Lu enjoys the company of his wife and friends, which usually involve food, board games or video games, church activities, and lots of laughter.

Dr. Lu is excited to be part of the eye care team and is looking forward to helping his patients to the best of his abilities!

Dr. Kar Man Cheung, Optometrist

Dr. Kar Man Cheung’s top priorities are your eyes and your vision. With a reputation of being detail oriented and patient, she will listen to your concerns and strive to provide the highest quality of care.

Dr. Cheung completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto. Subsequently, she studied in Boston and received her Doctorate of Optometry with honours at the New England College of Optometry. She completed her clinical externships across North America – with specialties in pediatrics, contact lenses, and ocular diseases. She is licensed to practice in both Canada and the United States, and is Therapeutic pharmaceutical agents (TPA) certified.

After graduation, Dr. Cheung has been practicing in her hometown of Markham and surrounding GTA. Her areas of focus are preventative eye health and myopia control. In her spare time, Dr. Cheung enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 young children. You can often find them biking around the neighbourhood or eating out at their favourite restaurants.
