- Dilated ocular health assessments are strongly recommended to most of our patients as part of their routine annual exams to help with better detection of eye disease, like glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and more.
- Pediatric eye care can begin at any age. However, the Canadian Association of Optometrist recommends the first routine examination should be at 6 months old, then annually as they are rapidly growing and changing.
- Myopia control is rapidly evolving and commonly practiced in optometry nowadays. In the past, when your child was diagnosed with myopia, or nearsightedness, there was nothing that could be done to slow down the progression. Now, there are several different treatment options that should be discussed and considered as soon as your child starts becoming myopic.

- Visual Field Analysis is a common test used in managing glaucoma and other diseases that may affect your “area of seeing” otherwise known as your “visual field”. It is also often a test that is asked of you by the Ministry of Transportation to be completed if they have questioned this visual requirement for your driver’s license application.
- OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) uses light waves to take cross-sectional pictures of the macula, retina and/or optic nerves, producing images of great details of the different layers of those structures. It may be recommended for patients to establish baseline images, or to be done at repeated visits for monitoring eye conditions.
